Kim De Silva hails from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is an English and Communication lecturer attached to the Student Development Section of the Malaysian Institute of Information Technology, Universiti Kuala Lumpur. She holds a Master in Education (TESL) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia and has been in the teaching profession for more than 10 years now. Prior to joining UniKL, she lectured and held various administrative positions at Universiti Selangor under the TESL programme.
Ms. Kim is not only an English and Communication lecturer at UniKL; she is also very actively involved in providing training for ESL/EFL short courses especially to international learners of English such as those from South Korea and Japan. To date, she has taught over quite a substantial number of ESL/ EFL learners ranging from teens to adult learners. Her current areas of interest are Communicative English, Business English and ICT based language learning activities. In addition to that, she has been the Event Chair for the ACM IMCOM (ICUIMC) Conference since 2013 representing UniKL MIIT with her other colleagues in co-organising conferences with Sungkyunkwan University.
