UniKL MIIT is also one of the Premier Digital Tech Institutions (PDTI).
Premier Digital Tech Institutions (PDTIs) are renowned tertiary institutions in Malaysia that specialize in digital tech education. These institutions, which include universities and polytechnics, have a strong reputation for producing high-quality graduates who are well-equipped for high-value jobs in the digital tech industry. The initiative was launched in 2017 by MDEC with support from Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and industry experts.

Considering the numerous impact of such Mobility programme, Universiti Kuala Lumpur via Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) started the initiative to encourage many international students to pursue their one-semester Exchange Programme and various short courses such as English as a Second Language (ESL), Edu-Tourism, internship, joint-project supervisions and many more activities.
Industrial Linkages (IL) is to prepare student’s capabilities in joining the industrial culture and real working environment. IL enhances students’ skills and increases employability as early as Semester 1 up until graduation and beyond. Students will be given many occasions where they can build an effective partnership and mingle with various industries and companies. In this opportunity, they can ask the industrial workers anything related to the working environment and culture.
Part of the structure in Industrial Linkages is Industrialmanship. In this structure, students will go through processes from Industrialmanship briefing, student profiling, various of industrial talks, safety and health awareness briefing, industrial visits, industrial exposure, interview skills and grooming workshop, resume writing workshop and finally industrial training. All of these are necessary to create a career path clarification and portfolio development for students.
The main objective of Industrial Linkages is:
- To foster students’ engagement with industry as soon as they enter for their study.
- To acquaint students with the industrial environment and real working culture.
- To increase students’ competitiveness and marketability of UniKL graduates that match with the graduate’s quality profiles.
- To build a successful partnership and collaboration of UniKL with local or global companies.

Talent Inside is a job-matching programme initiated by Universiti Kuala Lumpur.
This programme gives industry players the opportunity to cultivate and recruit promising graduates from Universiti Kuala Lumpur to their place of employment after graduation.
